Privacy Policy

Summary
Biblical Hebrew Pro is a study app for Biblical Hebrew vocabulary, paradigms, and parsing. We collect the minimum data needed to make the app work and to sync your study progress across your devices. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not run any third-party analytics or tracking inside the app.
What we collect
When you open the app, an anonymous account is created for you on our backend. This account is identified only by a random UUID — not by your name, email, or Apple ID. Associated with this anonymous account, we store:
- Your spaced-repetition study state (which Hebrew words you have studied, when they are next due, and how well you knew them).
- The Hebrew words you have tagged as “known.”
- Your best streak / score on each quiz mode.
- Whether you have an active premium subscription, and which product (Monthly, Annual, or Lifetime).
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, microphone access, or any device identifiers beyond what Apple itself uses to deliver in-app purchases.
How we use it
Your study state is used solely to power the app's core features: spaced repetition, progress tracking, and (for premium users) syncing the same study state across multiple devices signed in to the same anonymous account. Your subscription status is used solely to determine which features the app unlocks for you.
Who else sees it
The app relies on three third-party services to function. Each receives only the data needed for its role:
- Apple processes all in-app purchases. We never see your payment information; Apple handles all of that. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat manages subscription state. They receive your anonymous app user ID and the product you purchased. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Your anonymous user ID and study data live here. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Tracking and analytics
Biblical Hebrew Pro does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track you across apps or websites.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages, but it is designed for adult and teen students of Biblical Hebrew (seminarians, pastors, scholars, and serious lay learners). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, in part because we collect almost no personal information at all.
Data retention and deletion
Your anonymous account and its associated study data persist as long as the app is installed on a device signed in to that account. You can clear all local data at any time by deleting the app. To request deletion of any server-side records associated with your account, email us at micah.julian@gmail.com with as much of your anonymous user ID as you can recover (visible in Settings inside the app on supported builds).
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material about how the app handles your data, we will update this page and bump the “Last updated” date above. If you continue to use the app after a change, you accept the updated policy.
